How-to guide

How to convert PNG images to PDF

PNG files are common for screenshots and graphics with transparency, but many places that ask for a document upload expect a PDF specifically.

Why convert PNG to PDF

A PDF is the more portable, print-ready format for sharing a document, and combining several PNG screenshots into a single file is much easier to send as one attachment than several separate images.

Steps

  1. Open the Image to PDF tool — it accepts PNG as well as JPG.
  2. Drop in your PNG file(s).
  3. Reorder if you have more than one.
  4. Download the resulting PDF.

A note on transparency

PNG files can have transparent backgrounds; PDF pages don't support transparency in the same way, so transparent areas are filled with white in the output. For screenshots and scanned documents this makes no visible difference.
